How far in advance should we be booking?
1-2 years is the best timeline to get booked, of course the sooner the better. Especially clients looking for prime summer months or long weekends we recommend booking 2 years in advance. Dates are confirmed with a non-refundable deposit. It’s recommended to put down the deposit and book your dates even if you’re still finalizing the details of pre-wedding events etc.
How much are your packages?
All of our wedding packages are custom made based on your needs + wants. It all starts with availability and the number of events, hours, locations, and crew members required. Book a consultation to build your own custom quote once you’ve got secured dates!
How do we go about planning our pre-shoot?
Pre-Shoot planning can be very exciting depending on your needs / wants. We love to use our group chats to discuss ideas, themes, concepts, props, cars, locations, dates, and even share inspiration material. We also have a location samples guide which is a great place to get started. Shoots are typically 2-3hours and can allow 1 outfit change. We capture photos and also some video bits on our pre-shoots to add to your highlights / NDEs.
Are you able to direct or guide our guests?
As shooters we are often relied on to provide guidance and direction to our families + couples. We try staying in the background and avoid being a distraction during all your major moments, but rest assured we will be there for you when needed. Whether it’s getting you a glass of water, telling you to sit up straight or smile, helping fix that wardrobe malfunction, or just helping be a calm voice in a moment of chaos, you can count on us to be there and provide guidance. Direction will also be provided when we get more into capturing creative material. Having a list of group shots or family members is also a great resource to have for your shooters to ensure we don’t miss any key shots.
What if we get rain or bad weather?
Living in “Raincouver” does have downsides sometimes. As a team we are fully prepared to shoot in almost any conditions. The tough part can be managing client outfits and comfort. We always have a few backup locations where we can find some dry places to shoot on hand but it’s best to be prepared to shoot in all conditions. We almost always have our clear umbrellas and blankets with us for your comfort. In the past we’ve been able to shoot at local businesses, hotel lobbies, conservatories, even libraries! All options are on the table in these situations.
For the pre-wedding shoot we allow for one free postponement due to weather, additional postponements may be applicable to cancellation fee of ($150). Not all services are available in bad weather (ie. Drone).
Do you do Next Day Edits?
Absolutely we do! Next Day Edits are one of our most popular products and can be added into any package for both Photography + Videography. We also offer Same Day Edits where necessary!
How do you choose your music?
Music is a vital part of your video production. We always use our group chats to discuss music ideas and get your input before we begin the editing process. We also have online resources available where you can browse through thousands of royalty free music choices and sort by genre, mood, style, occasion, etc. etc. to find the perfect fit.
Who will be shooting my events?
We are a team of 10 shooters + editors in total working together shooting weddings since 2015. As per company policy, we only take on ONE wedding per weekend. This helps us ensure we can all give 110% effort to our clients who have trusted us with the responsibility to capture their life’s most meaningful moments. We strive to keep our team fresh and focused for your big events. Rest assured, it will be one of our immediate crew members shooting with you at your event and not some random freelancers. We take care of both sides of the family.
How do I know how many hours I need?
The most vital part of a successfully planned wedding is your itinerary. As we all know, communication is key. Having quick access to this document will save you, your families, and your vendors a lot of headache. So get started on this early and build it out as you go, as your itinerary becomes more clear and filled out, you will easily be able to see how many hours of coverage are needed. In most cases, pre-wedding events are between 2-4hrs each and the full wedding days run about 12hrs + 5hr receptions.
What if we need to add more hours on the day of?
We are there for you until your event is completed. Things don’t always run perfectly on time, so we offer the option for clients to add on hours on the day of the event. A small fee does apply for hours added on the day of the event, but we will never leave you hanging or add pressure during big moments. Clients can pre-approve OT hours as well to help avoid distraction.
Yes! We are able to livestream almost any event. We stream direct to YouTube and can adjust privacy settings to be public, private, or unlisted depending on your preference. Multi-Cam stream options are available, event venue must have high-speed internet connection to avoid data surcharges. Single Camera livestream packages start at $500. The livestream is archived and available to re-watch on YouTube immediately after the livestream has concluded. This product is a hit for families with overseas guests unable to attend. Live-chat is also enabled for guests to send their well wishes.
Always a crowd favorite, the His Hers Slideshow is a trip down memory lane and focuses on three sections, His, Hers and Theirs. We recommend somewhere between 30-60 photos per section. You will need to number these photos in the order you’d like them to appear for us and then upload them to your own Upload Folder which we will provide. We will also need your music selection; you can send us YouTube links or MP3 files, 1 song per section max 2. Be sure to get this done ahead of time, couples tend to underestimate how time consuming this task can be. We are no longer providing scanning services, sorry for any inconvenience.
The longest wait times you will endure are for your full video edits. We ask for 6-8mo to get your review links over to you. For full photo edits we ask for 8-12 weeks. These timelines can vary depending on the time of year your wedding is. April / May clients tend to wait less than September / October weddings. We edit everything in full and want to ensure the highest possible quality for our clients. There are often dozens of hours of footage which we need to sort, assemble, export, upload, and revise. For general reference, editing time takes 5 times as long as it did to shoot. (4hr event = 20hrs of editing) We highly recommend having Next Day Edit or Livestream products for clients who want to re-live their event ASAP.
All of our clients receive Review Links as their first draft look of their full videos. This is a low-res version of your video where you can watch and leave us comments, requests, or any revisions you might have. We do our best to make all requested changes and then continue on to create your final copy. Final copies are delivered online or USB / Hard Drive. Hard Drive option is our recommended for long term safe keeping. The hard drives include all the high resolution Photo + Video files from your events. Photos are also delivered to you in an Online Photo gallery where you can share, download, and order prints / canvas direct.
We do offer standalone services for wedding photography + videography! Our priority is to do both services together, so we only open up our calendar to standalone bookings in January of that same year. For example, to book 2024 Photography Only packages, you’d have to wait until Jan 24th and if we still have available dates, we can accommodate!
We most definitely do! Once you’ve received all your photo edits from us you will be sent a form where you will be able to select the size, style, and budget for your album. Costs can range between $1,000 – $3,000 for professionally made albums. You will need to select photos using the “favorite” button in your photo gallery. Once we have your form and selections, we will prepare the design draft for you to review and approve.
The cut-off for submitting your wedding week schedule is 8 weeks before the first event. Waiting any longer can result in limited or no availability. The more detailed and precise you can be with your wedding week schedule, the better prepared and equipped we will be when the big day comes around.
After final delivery, clients have 30 days to review their products and ensure everything is OK and in working order. After this point we will consolidate your project and will keep your final exports on our archive servers indefinitely. An admin fee does apply for retrieval of the files after final delivery has been made. Clients may request additional copies as required.
Yes! We love to travel and explore new places with our clients. We have done many destination weddings over the years in Mexico, USA, and all over our home country of Canada. Travel charges for travel time, hotels, baggage fees, flights, vehicle rentals, equipment rentals may apply. Clients may also be able to group shoots together with other clients and save on travel charges.
